Silver Jewelry Care and Cleaning
Things You Should NOT Do To Your Sterling Silver Jewelry:
- Do NOT get cleaning supplies or chemicals on your silver jewelry, including jewelry cleaners.
- Do NOT wear your silver bracelet while swimming, sitting in a hot tub, showering or bathing.
- Do NOT soak your silver bracelet in water or other liquids. If your bracelet gets wet, dry it immediately and carefully with a cotton cloth.
- Do NOT wear your silver bracelet while doing yard work, heavy duty housework, exercising, or other strenuous activity where you may accidentally bang the bracelet on a hard surface.
- Do NOT throw or drop the silver bracelet on a hard surface.
- Do NOT use tissue or other paper products to clean your jewelry, since the fibers in paper products can scratch silver.
- Do NOT sleep with your bracelet on.
Things you SHOULD Do To Your Sterling Silver Jewelry:
- Do store your silver jewelry in a cool, dry place.
- Do wipe your silver jewelry clean with a soft cotton cloth after each wear to remove body oils and dirt
- Do occasionally restring your bracelet to reduce possibility of breakage. With care, our stringing wire should last many years, but may not last forever, especially with heavy use. We recommend you get it restrung every few years if you wear it regularly.
- Do use a Sunshine Polishing Cloth* to remove the natural tarnish that will occur with your silver jewelry over time.
*Sunshine ® Polishing Cloths remove tarnish from sterling silver, gold, brass, copper, glass, mirrors and most other surfaces, leaving a deep, long-lasting luster. These polishing cloths are safe to use on Swarovski Crystals as well. Amy Cate Designs highly recommends this product to effectively care for your silver bracelets and other jewelry.
